Northumbria Police has issued a list of current road closures and other dangers due to poor weather conditions.
Drivers are urged to note the following problems on the roads across the force area today and advised to take extra care if they need to travel.
The Met Office extended a yellow weather alert eastwards earlier this afternoon.
NORTHUMBERLAND
Poor road conditions, Allenheads, Hexham
Broken-down vehicle, A68 Beukley Bank, Hexham
Reports of heavy snow in Hexham
Issues around Clifton Road and steep bank close by.
Road flooded at Fountain Head Bank
Road flooded at Station Road
A69 eastbound carriageway slippy conditions.
Coach stuck at Raise Bank, A689 Lambley.
A68 Broomhough (just outside of Corbridge) to Slaley, road closed.
NORTH TYNESIDE
Road flooded, Southgate, Killingworth.
SOUTH SHIELDS
Snow lying on A19 between A1231 and A690.
Large puddle on Hedworth Lane
GATESHEAD AREA
A692 Lobley Hill Road, just before the speed camera, broken down HGV, road is closed.
Whickham Bank/Swalwell Bank only passable with care. Vehicles going up but cannot come down.
Fellside Road to and from Sunniside is impassable, vehicles moving extremely slowly.
Burnopfield Bank, closed down to Rowlands Gill due to accident.
Bus stuck on Dunston bank.
Dangerous roads reported on Hookergate Lane.
Vehicle stuck in snow Wrekenton Row.
Bus stuck Church Road/Windynook Road.
