MAY we say, as members of the public, how we like the new seven governors bringing their skills and integrating into the board of Northumberland College in Ashington.
We hope the new principle, when elected, will come from the north east, having insight into underlying problems in education, especially maths, science, languages, medicine and engineering.
We would like distinguished lectures from home and abroad, giving extra public talks/lectures after college hours, enabling both students and mature students, continuing in their academic levels.
We welcome public participation as a vehicle of practical experience in research elements towards local business and beyond.
It’s a good level for students to participate in and does nothing but good for learning.
Our thanks go to Viv Gillespie for holding the fort and doing such a good job as interim principle.
