Woman injured in hit and run

A woman was injured in a hit and run collision in Northumberland.

Police are appealing for information after the victim was hit by a car in a road restricted to bus and emergency vehicles only.

The 52-year-old had been walking her dog along Laverock Hall Road between 10.30pm and 10.45pm on Tuesday when she saw a car being driven along the road.

She attempted to stop the vehicle which slowed almost to a stop but then drove towards the woman and struck her causing an injury.

The woman fell to the ground and suffered minor injuries. The car then drove off.

Another car in the area stopped and came to the woman’s assistance.

Police would also like to speak to these people as they may have information which could assist enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who saw the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 1281 240516.
