Young people in Northumberland have met advisors to discuss training, apprenticeships, careers, courses and self-employment during a special event in Ashington.
Youth works is organised by Northumberland County Council’s employability and skills and youth services teams, aimed at 16 to 19-year-olds living in the county.
Representatives from a range of organisations were on hand at Hirst Welfare Centre last week, to explain about the employment and training opportunities on offer and provide help filling in application forms.
Coun Robert Arckless, Northumberland County Council’s policy board member for children’s services, said: “As young people prepare to leave school or college this summer we hope Youth works will be an invaluable source of information for them.”
