Representatives from Northumberland’s food and drink sector are being invited to attend a free workshop to explore ways to develop business opportunities.
The event, organised by Northumberland County Council, is aimed at enabling businesses to identify areas where opportunities could exist.
It will also offer a greater understanding of the support available to producers and to look at the successes and problems experienced by those in the food and drink industry.
The workshop will be held at Kirkley Hall on Thursday, March 5, from 9am to 1pm.
CounVal Tyler, policy board member for community infrastructure and culture, said: “There are some absolutely fantastic food and drink producers in the county.
“They contribute enormously to the local economy and we need to support them where we can.
“There are still trading opportunities that can be developed that will help to boost their businesses and we want to find out what these are and would like to explore these opportunities further.”
The council wants to maximise the use of local produce on menus in the Northumberland hospitality industry and to also encourage local business to work more closely together.
