A FORMER journalist is celebrating his north east heritage with the release of his latest novel.
Paul Mann’s 11th book, The Leek Club, is inspired by his childhood in Bedlington in the 1950s.
Paul, born in Morpeth in 1947, said: “It’s full of life and colour and history, and the struggle to be yourself and to fulfil your potential no matter what, I think, resonates with most people.”
Paul, pictured, began his career as an office boy in Newcastle, later moving to London and now living in Maine in the US.
Despite having travelling the world – working in Canada, Asia, the US and Australia – Paul says Bedlington has always held a special place in his heart.
“No matter how much I wanted to put Bedlington behind me all those years ago, I couldn’t because it was inside me,” he said.
The Leek Club is available at Amazon’s Kindle store and to print on demand.
