AN X-factor hopeful has pleaded guilty to wounding her ex-boyfriend by glassing him in the face.

William Scott Aitken, of Ashington, was left with cuts to his face after the incident in his home on June 24, 2012.

Lucie Slater, who reached the boot camp stages of the reality competition this year with girl band Quantro, pleaded guilty to wounding on Wednesday afternoon at Newcastle Crown Court.

The 21-year-old of Ryton in Gateshead, is due to be sentenced in December, and has been told by the judge that all sentencing options remain open.

Judge Toby Hedworth said: “You have pleaded guilty to the offence of unlawful wounding which was an alternative to the original allegation of wounding with intent.

“The basis on which you have pleaded guilty involves an acceptance on your behalf that the injuries were caused in the way that Mr Aitken say that it was.”

Slater, a promotions girl in Newcastle City Centre, will be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court in the week commencing December 3, 2012.

Her and her band mates were kicked out of the competiton as a result of the criminal proceedings.
