A centre that provides programmes and services to youngsters has had a makeover thanks to a national paint project.
Northumberland YMCA in Ashington is showing off its brand new look to the community thanks to a paint donation from the Dulux ‘Let’s Colour’ project.
The centre, in North View, helps young people thrive in the local community.
The building’s exterior had never been decorated, leaving it drab and uninspiring.
A team of 20 volunteers, including YMCA staff, painted a vivid circle pattern over the entire front wall of the building, using purple, yellow, green, blue and red colours.
YMCA chief executive Rob Cox said: “The paint donation has helped give our building a warm, colourful and vibrant feel – something it has been missing for many years.
“Without Dulux’s support we wouldn’t have been able to reinvent our centre.”
The paint was donated by the Dulux Decorator Centre in Newcastle.
