Youngsters will join older people from a Seaton Sluice retirement home next week to plant bulbs in a bid to help save the honey bee.

Tenants will join forces with the children from Seaton Sluice schools to plant bee-friendly bulbs and seeds in the grounds of Anchor’s Beresford Court next Thursday, October 17.

As part of Anchor’s Bee Friendly Campaign, older people and schoolchildren across England are working with the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) to make gardens attractive to the honey bee.

Azure Landscapes have provided bulbs and seeds free of charge, which bloom in February and March when food is scarce for honey bees.
