Youngsters in Northumberland are being given the chance to complete an apprenticeship and gain qualifications in Cycle Mechanics.
Employers can now apply for a £1,500 bursary to take on an apprentice for 12 months, which includes training at a cycle workshop in North Seaton, and in the workplace.
Qualifications available include Health and Safety, Level 1 and 2 Diplomas in Cycle Mechanics, NVQ Diploma in Engineering maintenance and Functional skills Maths and English.
Tutor Trevor Bell said: “We have a good track record with four of our learners going into employment in the last year and this new funding is a great opportunity for small business to train existing employees and take on new apprentices.
