A group of youngsters from Blyth were given a day out in north Northumberland courtesy of a grant.
The High Sheriff of Northumberland donation was used to take the youngsters to visit Seahouses and Longstone Lighthouse on the Farne Islands.
On the day they learned about the heroic rescue of shipwrecked sailors by Grace Darling.
The youngsters also had the opportunity to see grey seals and several different species of sea birds.
A spokesperson for the club said: “When taking young people on trips we try to include an educational element and past trips have been to Eden Camp World War II Museum and Beamish Open Air Museum.”
The youth club is open to young people aged from eight to 16 and offers a wide range of activities.
