Unemployed youngsters from south east Northumberland are being given a helping hand in achieving a qualification in horticulture.
Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service (WCVS) was recently awarded funding from the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland to engage with volunteers aged 14 to 25 to enable them to achieve a Level 1 award in horticulture.
WCVS chief executive officer Anne Lyall said: “Our Seeds 2 Success project goes from strength to strength.
“We have been able to provide accredited training for young people, work experience and job search activities for those seeking employment, and a social outlet for other volunteers.
“We are extremely grateful to our partners and our funders who continue to support this great project.”
