A group of youngsters are cooking up something special in aid of charity.
Morpeth youngsters Joe Ford, Joseph Dale, Dylan Graham, Chris Aspey and Rioghan Bruce will be in Morpeth’s Carlisle Park on Friday, August 21, to help rebrand the bandstand because they feel it is currently bring used inappropriately and often anti-socially.
The boys were inspired to get cooking as the social action element of their NCS (National Citizens’ Service) award and felt the culinary initiative would be of benefit to local people.
The boys will be holding a barbecue with the profit being divided between The Newman Holiday Trust and the WWF.
Rioghan Bruce said: “We had such a fantastic time on our recent NCS course that we wanted to be able to help and give something back.
“We hope that by hosting a barbecue, local people will be more aware of the work of the charities and contribute towards causes that we all feel are important and need supporting.”
