Youngsters at a south east Northumberland school have been taking part in a special event as part of nursery rhyme week.
Pupils from the reception ad nursery class at St Bede’s Primary School in Bedlington, having been taking part in the world wide event, which last year saw more than 200,000 children taking part across 31 countries.
Over the course of the week the youngsters had the challenge of singing a familiar nursery rhyme including Old King Cole, hey Diddle Diddle, I hear Thunder, Oranges and Lemons, and Five Current Buns.
Claire Hart, from the school, said: “We have had activities running throughout the week that are linked to each of the rhymes.
“At St Bede’s we see singing nursery rhymes as an integral part of our everyday routine, and enjoy singing rhymes that are familiar to the children.”
