Lynda McKenna hit the nail on the head regarding European funding, (News Post Leader, October 5).
As a region, we are actually net gainers from Europe – we get more back than we contribute.
I work for a company that gives out grants to companies in the north east, and the money we dish out is ERDF money.
We have been told by the government that it will continue the funding, but it seems to have renegaded on election promises so far.
However, I hope I am wrong and that it continues to support this funding. It is desperately needed.
As an aside, I would like to know just why the sitting Blyth Valley MP decided to vote out.
He surely can’t think that this region will be better off?
Successive governments, Labour included, have just ignored our problems and I don’t see that changing once we leave the EU. Do you?
