LITTER: Problem is sickening

editorial image

The litter beside the ferry area is disgusting.

Who is responsible, the harbour or the council?

Rubbish like TVs, a microwave oven, rubble and rotting timber washed ashore is all blighting the area of Cowpen Quay.

Down beside where the ferry operated is an eye-sore.

It’s disgusting.

Millions of pounds are spent on the drab looking market, but this area is vital because more shipping is using it.

People must think Blyth is a dump.

Why should I get kids together to sort the litter out? I want to do it, but more will just return. It has to be policed.

Drive down Bates Staithes and take a look on the shore, you will be sickened.
