We should all be worried

I refer to Ray Martin’s letter in last week’s News Post Leader regarding the eye screening tests.

I live in Cramlington and have just received a letter from the eye screening programme advising me that an appointment has been made for me to attend for a check-up at the health centre in Amble on July 10.

As you know this is ridiculous as the distance to travel would be about 40 miles.

I phoned Cramlington health centre who advised me that a firm in Worcester had recently taken over the postal appointments and were not acquainted with the area.

She told me not to worry but I think that the way things are going in the NHS we should all be worried.

I just wish that someone in a high position in the NHS would address our concerns as this is becoming a most serious matter.
