Money Heist is a Spanish heist crime drama series, which first appeared on Netflix in late 2017, having been acquired from Spanish network Antena 3.

The first two seasons - or 'parts' - revolved around a long-prepared, multi-day assault on the Royal Mint of Spain in Madrid, in which a group of robbers take hostages as part of their plan to print and escape with €2.4 billion.

Part three caught up with the perpetrators, living life in the aftermath of the biggest heist in history.

Scattered in pairs across the globe, pockets bulging with stolen cash, some of the members of the team got fidgety in Season 3 and headed back to civilisation, concocting an even more audacious plot to loot the Bank of Spain of all the gold in its vault.

The plan involved raining money down on the city of Madrid, distracting everyone enough that the crew are able to take the bank hostage.

The aggressive tactics of the police inspector negotiating with them made it difficult, but the robbers eventually managed to break into a secret vault where they obtained red briefcases to use as leverage, and captured a team of officers that had been sent it to retake the bank.

Who stars in it?

The good news is all the main crew are back for part four.

This means Ursula Corbero returns as narrator Silene Oliveira, AKA Tokyo, along with Itziar Ituno as Raquel Murillo (Lisbon), Alvaro Morte as Salvador Martin (The Professor), Pedro Alonso as Andres de Fonollosa (Berlin), and Miguel Herran as Anibal Cortes (Rio).

Also back are Esther Acebo as Monica Gaztambide (Stockholm), Jaime Lorente as Daniel Ramos (Denver), Darko Peric as Yashin Dasayev (Helsinki) and Mario de la Rosa as Suarez.

There was speculation that Alba Flores' Agata Jimenez (Nairobi) may have been killed off at the end of part three, but she has also been confirmed to be returning, so must have survived her bullet wound.

What will happen in Season 4?

Here's what creators Alex Pina and Javier Gomez Santander had to say: "I think the next season will be a bombshell for many reasons.

"We came from the third season with a feeling of vertigo, because it was the first one we produced for Netflix, we had used up a first robbery and we had to show that we could design a new one with more adrenaline and strength. I think we were so worried about that we got a lot of rhythm and milestones.

"In this fourth season what we propose is to stop a little, lower the piston to be able to dramatically savour some characters and then return to hit a burst in the middle of the season. It is a very special season."

When can I watch it?

The eight-part season released globally in its entirety on Friday 3 April.

Each episode runs for between 41 and 57 minutes, similar to part three.
