A competitive salary means that a company will offer an equal or greater salary for similar jobs in the same area.

Sainsbury’s offers £9.30 per hour for its online customer assistant roles, Asda pays £9.76 per hour for its home shopper picker roles and Lidl pays between £9.30 and £10.50 per hour for its customer assistant roles.

According to Payscale, Tesco workers average around £8.44 per hour.
