A local company is going from strength to strength in these times of Pre-Brexit anxiety.
Wingrove Motor Company was established more than 90 years ago by the Dalkin Family, and is still owned and operated by three generations of the family, making it one of the oldest family-owned car sales firms in the UK.
Since obtaining the Citroen franchise in 1969, Wingrove has been synonymous with supplying new and used Citroens, while also providing top quality service.
When DS Automobiles separated from Citroen in 2016 to create a stand-alone prestige brand, Wingrove Motor Company was happy to embrace the change and continue supporting both brands.
Earlier this year, Wingrove also introduced the Peugeot brand to its selection of cars following the successful takeover of the Benton Road Peugeot franchise, which secured the 30 jobs at that site.
With the purchase of Woodhorn Motors - a well-established and well-thought-of independent used car centre on Ellington Road Ends, Ashington - Wingrove has strengthened by bringing the successful 30-year-old company into the fold.
John Clay of Woodhorn Motors said: “It’s great to be part of the Wingrove family. They will be bringing so much to the company in terms of expertise, support and financial backing. I see a great future for the Ashington site ahead of us.”
Wingrove will run both showrooms with the same family values and customer care that people have come to expect from them.
It will continue to offer fantastic deals on new and used cars, and an extensive range of commercial vehicles, while offering a full range of after-sales services at all branches.
To celebrate the merger, Wingrove is offering thousands of pounds off the price of a variety of demo and nearly new Citroens, DS & Peugeots. Pop in and speak to one of the sales teams today.
