Blyth seconds played New Hartley with ten players after cry-offs during the morning.
Minus both opening bowlers, it was left to Gill and Purvis to lead the attack. Both bowled tight and after 12 overs had only conceded 16 runs, Purvis having taken the first wicket to fall.
Hartley had Tossell to thank for most of their 114-8 total as he came in at number three and remained 53 not out after 40 overs.
Carrigan was the pick of Blyth’s bowling with 3-24 from ten overs, Gill took 1-20 from and Purvis 2-21
The highlight for Blyth was a splendid catch taken by Carr one handed above his head.
