Blyth recorded a vital win against Gems/Chopwell on Saturday in their fight to beat relegation.
One area of the ground was still under water, however, with determination from some of the players in the morning the water was cleared, although the boundary was brought in a few yards to keep away from the worst area.
Blyth batted first got off to another good start through Roberts and Purma with the help of some poor bowling from Hussain.
Cchange bowler Baig took the first wicket in his second over when Siddique caught Purma for 17 with the score on 42.
Smith joined Roberts, however, with only seven runs added Roberts was caught by Alam off Mukhtar for 18.
O’Connor and Smith played sensibly and slowly moved the score along for the next 11 overs.
Mukhtar, who had bowled well, was replaced after his seventh over by Alam.
Smith and O’Connor had added 29 when Baig made a double breakthrough.
Firstly, he bowled O’Connor for 12, then with the last ball of the same over he had Smith caught by S Ahmed for 21.
Lawrence and Kinnair pushed the score along with the former back to form, hitting boundaries for fun.
The pair added 45 in seven overs before Kinnair departed, caught by Baig for a stubborn nine.
Kemp joined Lawrence and in 14 overs they took the visitors bowling apart. From 122-5 they added 102 for the sixth wicket.
Alam finally made a breakthrough, ending Lawrence’s 90-minute stay as he went for 75 including seven fours and four sixes off 66 balls.
Kemp went in the next over, bowled by Baig for 45 off 46 balls. He hit six fours and one six.
Quinn and Walker came to the wicket and saw out the final five overs. Quinn was 16 not out and Walker unbeaten on eight.
Gems bowling figures were A Mukhtar 2-55, O Hussain 0-30, F Baig 4-48, T Alam 1-56, M Ahmed 0-26 and S Ahmed 0-23.
Gems opened their reply with Krishnan and Mukhtar. Kemp opened the bowling and found Mukhtar in no mood to hang around as he hit 12 from three balls.
Kinnair then sent both openers back in two balls. Krishnan was first, caught by Silva for one, and Mukhtar followed next ball caught by Walker for 12.
S Ahmed and F Ahmed came together, with F Ahmed surviving the hat-trick ball.
After ten overs Blyth skipper Lawrence brought him self on to replace Kemp and he struck with his first ball, trapping F Ahmed lbw for 21.
In his second over he struck again, this time trapping new batsman Hussain lbw for one.
Singh, who had come on for Kinnair, got in on the act when he trapped S Ahmed lbw for 13.
Singh struck again when Roberts caught Khan for four, and Lawrence took his third wicket when Quinn stumped Alam for eight.
Singh finally sealed victory for the home side; firstly M Ahmed was trapped lbw for five, then he finally caught and bowled A Ahmed who had hung around for a top score of 26.
Siddique was unable to bat due to an injury sustained whilst fielding.
Blyth bowling figures were A Kemp 0-32, P Kinnair 2-23, M Lawrence 3-24 and S Singh 4-25.
