Ashington Rugby completed a comprehensive eight-wicket win over Blyth seconds on Saturday at Plessey Road.
Blyth batted first in the gale force conditions, and only two players came out with real credit, Darren Carr with 60 and Andy Douglas with 21 not out.
Dave Wansless Snr was the pick of the Ashington bowling with 3-47 as Blyth finished on 138-7.
Ashington’s reply was interrupted when Thompson struck twice, but Lavery and Pringle produced a match-winning partnership of 127 to steer their side to victory.
Lavery was 88 not out, hitting 12 fours and two sixes, while Pringle finished on 38 not out. Thompson took both wickets for 25 runs.
