Bomarsund first team were beaten twice inside four days as they exited from two of the three cup competitions this season in the first round.
The opening cup game of the season came on Wednesday, May 12, at Bomarsund Welfare against Ashington Rugby firsts in the Thomas Wilson Memorial Cup.
The visitors posted 124-9 from their designated overs with Michael Adamson (31) and skipper Chris Harwood (23) the only batters to really get in.
Scott McBride and Tom More picked up figures of 3-27 and 3-32 respectively, while Liam Besford took two wickets from his five overs.
In reply, Bomarsund fell short of their target as they finished on 95-8 from their 20 overs, with opener Andrew Matthews (41) and Colin Thornton (15) the only batsmen to get into double figures.
They did not have to wait long for their next cup game, as Wolviston firsts paid a visit to the Welfare four days later in the National Village Cup.
The hosts elected to bat but found themselves all out inside their allotted overs with 131 on the board.
Youngster Dan Robinson (44) led the scoring, while Jonathan Scope (34) was the only other batsman, apart from Liam Besford (10), that managed to get into double figures.
When it came to bowling, they managed to restrict Wolviston to 75-5 at one point, but the visitors then managed to knock the rest of the runs off without losing any more wickets.
Besford took 2-39 while David Seccombe and Gary Mordey finished with 1-19 and 1-22 respectively.
Bomarsund firsts play their third cup game in a week at the Welfare with the arrival of Blue Flames firsts on Tuesday, May 19, in the William Birkett Memorial Cup.
