Ashington Rugby cricket sides remain top of their respective leagues

In the Northumberland & Tyneside Cricket League, Bedlington 1sts remain second from bottom of Division 2 following their 29 run defeat away to Warkworth on Saturday.

Warkworth were 88 all out, Majid Ansari taking three wickets, but Bedlington failed to take advantage with the bat as they were skittled for only 59 runs.

Ashington Rugby 1sts beat Berwick 1sts in their top of the table clash and remain in prime position in Division 3. Berwick put on a decent 162 in their 45 overs, but Ashington replied with 163-1 with Adam Peacock 102 not out.

Blyth 1sts won by five wickets away to GEMs 1sts. The home side were 73 all out with Liam Besford taking 6-31. Blyth then replied with 74-5.

Cramlington 1sts won by 34 runs at home to Stocksfield. Cramlington posted 135-7 with Stocksfield all out for 101.

In Division 4, Bomarsund 1sts won by 116 runs at home to Seaton Burn 2nds. Adam McTaggart hit 69 as Bomar opened with 195-7, Seaton Burn being dismissed for 79 in reply.

Ashington Rugby 2nds top Division 5 North after their six wicket away win over Morpeth 2nds. Morpeth were 87 all out with Ashington putting on 88-4.
