Ashington seconds go joint top with win

Ashington seconds went joint top of the B1 division with Shotley Bridge following a comfortable 81 runs victory over Swalwell seconds at Langwell Crescent on Saturday.

Father and son Doug Potts (45) and Matty Potts (43) featured in a superb opening partnership of 107 as the hosts racked up 213-4.

Josh Robinson weighed in with 41 and Ian Sharkey 30.

In reply, Brown top scored for Swalwell with an unbeaten 41 whilst Grey made 33.

Craig Wood (4-31) was the best performer with ball as Ashington dismissed their visitors in the 37th over.
