Graham Pattinson struck his fourth successive half century but still found himself on the losing side as Bomarsund seconds lost by five wickets against second-placed Ashington Rugby.
The batsman led the way once again with a superb 64, including ten fours and one six, and Chris Scott (33), Tom More (26) and Martin Seccombe (21) all contributed with cameos to help the make 178-7 from their 40 overs.
David Wanless Jnr led the wicket-taking with 3-29 from seven overs, with Wanless Snr taking 2-34 in nine overs.
In reply, David Crowe struck in the second over, removing Jonny Richards, but contributions from six batsmen helped the visitors to victory.
Wanless Jnr ended 49 not out after hitting the winnings runs, but Bomar pushed the title-chasing side right to the end.
David Crowe led the bowling with figures of 2-33 from his ten overs, while Tom More and David Seccombe ended with 1-30, from six, and 1-31, from ten, respectively.
Fielding was the key to the seconds’ downfall, putting down five chances through the innings, with luck not going their way at the moment.
