BLYTH Cricket Club’s start to the new season was washed out.
The first XI’s game at home to Blue Flames never looked like taking place.
With all the rain during the week, the ground ended up with puddles all over.
The same fate struck the seconds at New Hartley, which was called off on Friday night.
With football, pitches at each end of the ground, puddles soon formed on the already churned up.
This Saturday the first XI are at home against near neighbours and reigning champions Bedlington. The game starts at 1pm.
The seconds are away to Stobswood seconds, also with a 1pm start.
On Wednesday, May 2, Blyth’s third XI are at home to Alnwick with a 6pm start.
