On a soft wicket, home side Kirkley won the toss and decided to bat but found initial runs hard to come by against Blyth.
Blyth’s opening attack of Dent and Kemp kept it tight in the first six overs, with Kemp bowling Nicholson for six.
Ball was trapped lbw for three by Kemp before Rowe was caught for ten off Dent,
Skipper Storey and Howey added 20 for the fourth wicket before the former departed for eight.
Lawrence then bowled Howey for 17 before he removed Potter for 11 then Wastell two balls later for two.
Ebdale bowled Richie for nine then removed Ash in his next over for one. Lawrence then brought Kirkley’s innings to an end, bowling Burns for two.
Blyth’s bowling figures were Dent 2-24, Kemp 2-29, Lawrence 4-12 and Ebdale 2-12.
Lawrence was bowled for seven after hitting Howey for six before Rowell went lbw without scoring.
Purvis went for one, also lbw to Howey. Cameron Walker and Dent put together the stand of the match scoring at four an over, bringing up the 50 partnership in the 20th over.
The partnership was ended after 70 runs when Dent fell lbw on 45 with the score on 93. Leason was bowled without scoring then Walker fell for 30 with two runs needed.
Smith and Roberts saw Blyth home by four wickets, both batsmen remained two not out.
