Opening batsmen Scott Dunn and Michael Levison featured in a magnificent unbroken partnership of 182 on Saturday to lead Ashington seconds to an emphatic victory over Lanchester seconds at Ashley Park.
As a result, the Colliers continue to blaze a hot trail at the top of the Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League’s B1 division as the second half of the campaign unfolded.
Dunn finished unbeaten on 90 with Levison ten runs behind on 80 as the duo reached the target inside 40 overs.
Earlier in the afternoon, Darren Wingfield and Chris Tully had both scored 34 as the home side were bowled out for 179 just before the end of their 45 overs allocation.
Ian Sharkey led the way taking 3-40 with two wickets each for Matty Collins (2-30), Alex Storey (2-26) and Matthew Potts (2-35) whilst skipper Doug Potts took 1-36.
