SPENNYMOOR Town boss Jason Ainsley said that when his side come face to face with Ashington at the Brewery Field on Saturday it will be disappointing for one good Northern League side to be going out of the competition.
He said: It will be a tough game but I have the utmost respect for manager Gary Middleton and Ashington – my only regret is that I wished we were not meeting each other.
“I cannot see the game ending goalless with the quality of the players we have got and how we go forward – and also the quality Ashington have got.
“This is a big game for both clubs and it’s a shame someone will have to go out.”
Diminutive striker Gavin Cogden is a doubt through working commitments, although Ainsley is hoping ‘something can be sorted out’, but there is a concern over an injury to Sonny Andrews.
