THIS weekend the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League holds the second final of the season, with Burradon and New Fordley taking on Ashington Grand in the SA Randolph Cup.
The final is at Bedlington Terriers’ ground with a 10.30am kick-off, with Jim Scott from Standard Security sponsoring the game.
Burradon and New Fordley reached their third final of the season with a home win against North Shields Royal Arms. They will now meet Wansbeck Flavour Bar on Sunday, April 7, in the Alan Davison Cup final after a 6-0 win. On target for the home side were Ian Lee (2), Graeme Cairns, Andrew Keenan, Craig Johnson and Daniel Young.
In division one, West Allotment beat Blyth High Street 2-1 with goals from Sam Todd and Jed Findlay with Anthony Goldie scoring the consolation.
Division two saw Red Lion Earsdon go down at Newbiggin Bankhouse by 5-2. Goals for Bankhouse came from Kevin Halliday (2), Ross Adams, Darren Burn and Stuart Sanderson. Scott Purcell and Graeme Smith scored for the Lion.
Bay Horse edged Blyth Percy Arms 4-3. On target for Bay Horse was Michael Jordan (3) and Mark Herron. Anthony Rutherford, Darren Walker and Lee Brosnan replied for Percy.
The points were shared between FC Beacon and Marden Residents in a six-goal thriller. Dan Atherton, Callum Appleby and Ian Marsh scored for Beacon with Jed Findlay (2) and Neil Carr on target for Marden.
