ALAN Pardew says Danny Simpson’s performance at Upton Park has given him a decision to make for Newcastle United’s return to London.
Simpson came in for the suspended Mathieu Debuchy against West Ham United last weekend.
Debuchy has now served the one-game ban he was handed for his dismissal against Liverpool late last month.
And Pardew admits he has a headache ahead of tomorrow’s game against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
“There’s a decision to be made,” Pardew told the Gazette. “Danny was absolutely fabulous at West Ham.
“There have been a few negative things said about Danny, but when we’ve really needed him, he’s come to the fore.
“He played a lot last year in that top-five run. He’s been a terrific servant for us.”
Simpson will leave Newcastle in the summer when his contract expires. The 27-year-old was the club’s first-choice right-back until Debuchy’s arrival from Lille in January.
