Dylan Armstrong was involved in all of Ashington’s goals on Saturday as they swept a gallant Crook Town aside 4-1.
And the striker, who recently celebrated his 18th birthday, said he derives as much satisfaction in providing assists as he does scoring.
North Shields born Armstrong, who was recently released by Hartlepool in the second year of being a youth team scholar, said: “I’m happy at Ashington and have loved it since I came here.
“I have played three games and we have won them all. And the lads have been really supportive.
“I think I’ve set two or three up out there today and for me I like assisting with goals just as much as scoring them.
“However, at the end of the day, I was just pleased we won the game.”
He continued: “I don’t really want the season to end. We are on a good run and you can tell there is confidence around the place.
“Even when we are not playing as well as we would like, we are still winning games, which is a good thing and the boss (Steve Harmison) has been great because he is fully behind us.”
