The midweek Techflow Group Northumberland Senior Cup quarter-finals involving Ashington and Morpeth Town have fallen victim of the weather.

Ashington were due to travel to North Shields on Wednesday evening, but the game was postponed on Tuesday lunchtime after a pitch inspection at the Daren Persson Stadium.

The fixture has been rescheduled for Wednesday, December 16.

The two sides met recently in the FA Vase where the holders, the Robins, comfortably advanced with a 3-0 win over Steve Harmison’s Colliers.

Ebac Northern League leaders Morpeth’s game at Whitley Bay was due to be played tonight (Tuesday), but was called off early Tuesday following two days of persistent rain.

It is the second time the fixture has been postponed.

The tie was originally scheduled to be played last Tuesday but was put back a week due to Morpeth’s cup commitments following a postponement of their FA Vase tie.

A new date for the tie has yet to be decided.
