Ashington FC manager Steve Harmison has been handed a 12-match touchline ban.
The normally mild mannered former Durham and England Ashes winning cricketer had an altercation with the match referee following his side’s 2-0 defeat against Guisborough in early February.
The ban will come into effect from Monday, April 11, but as the Colliers only have nine matches of the current campaign remaining, it will carry over into next season.
The Northumberland Football Association declined to comment on their decision and Harmison was also unavailable.
And no officials from the Woodhorn Lane-based were prepared to talk about the incident or confirm or deny whether Harmison will be lodging an appeal against the ban.
