Ashington chairman believes club has a bright future

Ashington Community Football Club is on the up and the future is bright, according to the club’s chairman.

Ian Lavery delivered a pre-awards speech at Ashington CFC’s presentation evening last Saturday during amongst which he thanked the club’s sponsors, supporters and staff behind the scenes.

“This club is on the up and the future is bright – and if we pull together we can achieve anything,” he told a packed audience.

“This club was struggling six years ago but are now one of the top six in the best non league in the country.”

Meanwhile, supporters are invited to attend an open meeting at Ashington CFC’s Woodhorn Lane ground on Wednesday, May 28, to discuss the future and unveiling of an artist’s impression of a new facility at the ground.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm.
