Ashington head to Consett to play Durham City

Ashington will play Durham City on Consett’s all weather 3G surface on Saturday, January 30, in a rearranged Ebac Northern League first division clash.

Steve Harmison’s side were originally due to face Sunderland RCA at Woodhorn Lane but the Wearsiders, who have former Blyth Spartans and Ashington defender Wayne Buchanan in their ranks, are enjoying a run in the FA Vase, and after defeating Sleaford 3-2 last weekend, they will host Bristol Manor Farm in the fifth round at Meadow Park on Saturday.

Meanwhile North Shields and Ashington will try for a fourth time to play their Techflow Group Northumberland Senior Cup quarter-final tie on Wednesday, February 3.

The contest was initially scheduled to have taken place on December 2, and after two further failed attempts, all parties are hoping that the match will finally get the green light next week.
