NEW Hartley’s good run continued with a second win of the week when they claimed all three points at Whickham on Saturday.
Having beating Bedlington 5-0 earlier in the week in the Durham FA County Youth Cup, it was back to league action and another hard fought win at the weekend
Hartley took the lead on 15 minutes with a fine James Job header, but before half-time Whickham levelled through Meshak Kanda.
The second half was end to end and a superb penalty save from Hartley’s Kyle Barnard kept the scores level before his side went straight up the field and a mix up in the Whickham defence saw Dean Briggs score with the simplest of tap ins.
Still Whickham pressed, but they found Barnard in fine form as Hartley hung on to claim the points.
