Bedlington Social Club continue maximum start

Bedlington Social Club made it two wins out of three with a 4-2 home success over Ashington Town Central in the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League premier division.

On target for the Social Club were Michael Carr, Jamie Chapman, Connor Montgomery and Joe Bolam. Scoring for Central was Stephen Frater and Gavin Armstrong.

Ashington Station Lounge went down at home against Blyth Last Orders by 4-2 with a Craig Towet penalty and Mark Hedley 30-yard effort only consolations as strikes from Martyn Hepple (2), Kevin Long and Mathew Crook won it for Last Orders.

Forest Hall also went down at home, 6-2 against Red Lion Earsdon. Karl Sutton and Dean Devlin scored for Hall. Lee Kelly led the scoring for Red Lion with a hat-trick. Andrew Smith (2) and Scott Mills were the other scorers.

In division one, East Chevington had a good 3-0 win at Cramlington Green with goals from Max Anderson (2) and Darren Smith.

Spring Gardens had a superb win at High Street, scoring three goals without reply. Steven Goicoechea, Chris Appleby and Jamie Lowe were the men on target.

Marden Residents had to fight all the way to secure a 6-4 home win against Ashington Northern. Their goals were shared between Richard Thompson, Chris Ridgeway and Ross Seaman all with two each. On target for Northern were Richard Stobbart, Daniel Webb, Jamie Graham and Daniel Costello.

Newsham Victory and Whitehouse Ashington produced a cracking game with both sides having plenty of chances. But there was only one goal and it came midway through the second half when Craig Frazer scored for Newsham.
