Blyth Deportivo go through in cup

BLYTH Rangers Deportivo Under-14s progressed to the next round of the League Cup with a hard fought 3-0 win at Throckley.

The home team had the better of the opening stages and pressed Rangers back but were unable to make any clear chances.

Blyth eventually took control and went in front following a flowing move after half an hour.

Phoenix Telfer won the ball in midfield and played in Reece Halliday who in turn put a great through ball to David Dunworth and he placed it past the home keeper.

Two minutes later Halliday held the ball up well before laying it into the path of man of the match Telfer who placed it into the top corner.

In the second half Shane Clough and Keelin Devlin both went close.

The final goal came when Craig Richardson played a great ball to Halliday who controlled it before firing it in.
