Brazilliant take top spot

THE latest round of matches in the Thursday night six-a-side MB Socca Leagues at Ashington’s Hirst Centre saw Brazilliant go top of division two.

They recorded a 3-0 win over the Doggers.

Also in division two, Sparta Hatbreath beat Ashington All-Stars 1-0.

They are joint top behind Brazilliant on goal difference.

The final game in the second tier saw Station FC see off new side V&N Jewellers 3-1, this despite having a player suspended the previous week and then seeing his ban extended due to more verbals from the touchline.

In division one, champions Real Ashington looked to make it three wins out of three as they took on one time title holders Base FC.

Base are a far way short of their form two seasons ago and they let in four goals as Real eased passed them.

Recently promoted Station Boys find themselves second after they beat Multiple Scoregasms 2-1.

The other game in division one saw a return for North Seaton Elephant, who beat The Whipping Boys 3-2.

New teams are being invited to enter the competitive leagues.
