Burradon and New Fordley bow out of the FA Sunday Cup

Burradon and New Fordley lost their FA Sunday Cup quarter-final against Hardwick Social Club to a single goal.

In the delayed encounter in the NFA Minor Cup between Ashington Station Lounge and Spring Gardens, the first half belonged to Gardens as they led 3-0.

But Lounge fought back and scored six times while Gardens could only add one to their tally to move into the fourth round. Goals for Lounge came from Josh Willis (2), Glen Tear, Craig Towert, Alex Briggs and Damien Stevens. For Gardens, Paul Foster, Stephen Ardley, Tony Lucas and John Amos were on target.

In the second round of the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League George Davison Cup, Newsham Vic won 5-0 at Whitehouse Ashington with David Lillico (2), Craig Fraser, Joe Betts and Chris Coppen on target.

In the premier division, Blyth Waterloo Pub and Bedlington Social Club played out a 1-1 draw. Martyn Hepple scored for Waterloo and Scott Marshall replied for Social Club.

In first division, Cramlington Green entertained High Street and won 4-3. Goals for Green came from Marcus Brown (2), Michael Jordan and Karl Boughen. On target for Street were Richard Raines, Chris Arkless and Brandon Nadeem.

FC Beacon went down 7-0 at home against Ashington Northern with Alan Buller, Jason Riches and John Lowes each scoring two while Jamie Graham netted the other strike.

Marden Residents also won at home, 3-0 against Blyth United Services, with strikes from Richard Thompson, Chris Ridgeway and Chris Fry.
