Burradon and New Fordley end season with 9-1 win

The Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League premier division saw Burradon and New Fordley close their season with a good win away to Wansbeck Pots and Slots 9-1.

Pots and Slots had a few players missing and Michael Angus scored their consolation goal. Leading the goal rush for Fordley was Michael Chilton with four, Andrew Keenan and Ian Lee added two each and Ryan Hutchinson completed the scoring.

Their was almost a complete fixture list in division one.

Ashington Excelsior went down 2-1 at home to Cramlington Green. Jamie Graham scored for Excelsior, but a double from Wesley McLean took the points for Green.

Ashington White House and Blyth Last Orders produced an excellent game. White House had leading goal scorer Andrew McLennen in goal and in the end they won by the odd goal in five. Graeme Robinson, Craig Towert and Gary Brotherton scored for White House and Paul Katz and Nick Soulsby for Last Orders.

Blyth Sports and Social won 4-1 at Blyth Isabella, who had Paul Bertram on target. Leading the scoring for Sports Club was the prolific Jason Hamilton with a hat-trick, with Keith Woodrow adding the other.

Blyth Waterloo just edged past Marden Residents by the odd goal in three. On target for Waterloo were Anthony Rutherford and Kyle Walker, with Jordan Fry scoring for Residents.

Newsham Vicory and Newbiggin Bankhouse shared the points in a 3-3 draw. Goals for Vic came from Chris Coppen, Steven Waterworth and David Lillico. On target for Bankhouse were Jamie Davison, Ben Bulley and Chris Waters

Division one champions Blyth South Beach ended with a narrow 2-1 win at Stakeford Cherry Tree. Alan Gibbard scored for Cherry Tree, with goals for South Beach coming from Reece Dobie and Michael Haley.

Clubs are being reminded the league AGM is on June 2 at New Delaval and Newsham Social Club with a 7pm start.

Also at the same venue, the presentation night will be on Tuesday, June 23, with an 8pm start.
