Burradon and New Fordley to try again

The Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League gets under way again on Sunday when Burradon and New Fordley will once again try to play their FA Sunday Cup tie against Newton Aycliffe.

Also waiting to play cup games are Marden Residents, Spring Gardens and Ashington Station Lounge in the NFA Minor Cup.

In the premier division, promoted Blyth Waterloo Pub tops the table with 16 points from seven games.

Just behind them are title favourites Burradon and New Fordley, who are three points adrift with two games in hand, with Broomhill North End Trap in third.

New side Bedlington Social Club are doing well in mid-table on nine points alongside Ashington Town Central and Red Lion Earsdon.

Ashington Station Lounge could leap frog all three with a couple of games in hand.

The other promoted side, Red Lion Bedlington, are just above Isabella Blyth in the relegation places.

Division one looks a lot tighter. Cramlington Green lead the way on 23 points.

Just three points behind are Newsham Victory with a game in hand, however, the Green would still be top on goal difference.

Guide Post Social Club are just a point behind.

High Street could jump up to third with two games in hand of the top side, but Spring Gardens, with three games in hand, could go level on points with Street.

Marden Residents have only played four league games and if they win those in hand they could go top.

Sides near the bottom are clear of East Chevington who prop up the division.
