Two Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League sides met in the NFA County Sunday Cup, and it was the holders who won through.
Burradon and New Fordley won 3-0 at North Shields Wooden Doll with goals from Connor Andrews, Michael Hall and Ian Lee.
Also in Sunday Minor Cup action was Blyth South Beach at Walker Willows and they came out on top in an eight-goal thriller 5-3. On target were Liam McKee (2), Kevin Long (2) and David Thompson.
In round three of the George Davison Cup. Forest Hall won 6-2 at home against Ashington Conchie. Scoring for Hall were Louis Snedden (4), Jamie Laidlaw and Chris Killen. Michael Freathy scored both goals for Conchie.
In round one of the JD Marnock Cup, Ashington Bubbles beat division one side Ashington Northern 5-1. Bubbles centre forward Kris Allington scored four with Daniel Hislop notching their other goal. Daniel Webb scored for Northern.
In the premier division, Wansbeck Pots and Slots gave Ashington Excelsior an early Christmas present as they produced their worst display of the season as they conceded seven without reply. The goals came from Steven Gardner (3), Scott Neal (2), Callum Swinney and John Henderson.
Blyth and Tyne lost 3-2 at home to Ashington Grand, who won with two own goals and a strike from Rob Haldon. Goals for Tyne came from Martin Robinson.
Division one leaders Last Orders continued on their winning ways with another home win, this time 6-1 against Marden Residents, who had Brian Watson on target. Hat-tricks from Andrew Scott and Martyn Hepple secured the win.
East Chevington beat Blyth United Services 6-3, who were down to ten men early on. On target for Chevington were Max Anderson (4), Brad Simpson and Kieron Falkous. Services’ replies came from David Long (2) and Stephen Hanley.
Another nine goals came as Cramlington Green lost 7-2 to AE Phoenix Riverside. Goals for Green came from Scott Dormond and Kieron Bishop, but on target for Riverside were Mark Taylor (2), Jordan Muldoon (2), Kevin Chapman, Liam Desmier and Karl Davison.
FC Beacon and Guide Post shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Beacon’s goals came from Mark Craijen and David Hudson. Peter Alklaway and Scott Hunter replied for Guide Post.
In a local derby between Newsham Victory and Blyth Isabella Colliery there were 12 goals as Victory won 7-5. For the winners, goals were from Jordan Wright (3), Craig Frazer (2), David Lillico and Joe Rose. Scoring for Isabella were Gavin Maddison (2), Craig Danielson (2) and Kyle Tosney.
Red Lion maintained the pressure on the top two with a win by the odd goal in five against High Street. Scoring for Lion was Callum Hermiston (2) and Chris Smiles. Alan Goldie scored both goals for Street.
