Burradon are knocked out of Sunday Cup competition

BURRADON and New Fordley were beaten 1-0 by Hetton Lyons Cricket Club in the all England Sunday Cup.

This Sunday, along with Ashington Mortimer, they are in the Northumberland County Cup, at home against Walker Willows while Mortimer are away to Blakelaw Social Club.

In the third round of the George Davison Cup, Blyth Comrades beat Blagdon Arms 4-1. Karl Boughen scored for the Blagdon with a Steven Molloy hat-trick and James Curry goal winning it for Comrades.

In the premier division top of the table clash between Newbiggin and Ashington Mortimer, goals from Brent Aisbitt and Darren Riddel won it for Mortimer.

The Eagle went down 4-2 to North Shields Gunner. Connor Aisbit and Scott Evans on target for the Eagle side.

Division one saw league leaders Ashington Grand go down to their first defeat of the season away to Monkseaton Arms 3-1. Even with this defeat, Grand remain top with a five-point cushion. Graham Todd scored their goal.

Ashington White House gained their first win of the season when they defeated High Street 3-1 at home. During the game High Street lost their keeper with a serious injury. Goals for White House came Alan Brown, Graham Whitehead and Steven Anderson. Jason Smart scored for High Street.

Cowpen Percy Arms beat Blyth Masons Arms 5-2 at home. Percy for once took their chances with Ross Temple and Steven Rylatt, two apiece, and David Mason on target. Marc Carroll and Nick Brannighan replied.

New Delaval and Newsham had little joy at home against South Beach, going down by 6-0. Goals for Beach came from Andrew Keenan (2), David Millin (2), Connor Hale and Steven Craig.

Division two saw wins for table toppers Royal Arms and Ashington Central. Both sides are level on points.

The Royal won 10-0 at Cramlington Phoenix while Central also won away, at Blyth Ridley Park, 5-0. Richard Hall and Jason Wilson scored two each with one own goal. David Campbell scored both goals for the Ridley.

Ashington Bubbles won 8-1 at Marden Residents with Johnathan Hogg (3), Kris Allington (2), Aaron Frazer (2) and Chris Page on target.

Ashington Grand Street came from behind to defeat Newsham Black Diamond 6-2 courtesy of goals from Stephen Frater (4), Chris Hogg and Alan Buller. Benden Rueane and Joe Rose scored for Black Diamond.

Bedlington Community beat visitors New Hartley 3-1 with new signing Jamie Graham scoring two with Richard Stobbart also on the score sheet. Liam Isaac. Clark Gunn scored for Hartley.

West Allotment beat Ashington Rohan Kanhai 9-0.
