Champions end season with a comfortable six-goal win

THE final games were played at the weekend to complete the Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday Football League season.

Premier champions Burradon and New Fordley had a comfortable win at home against Ashington Mortimer as they won 6-0.

Leading the scoring was Ian Lee with a hat-trick while their top performer Steve Howes chipped in with a double. Paul Alexander scored the champions’ other goal.

Division one saw High Street’s mini revival ended by the Milbourne Arms as they won 2-1.

Scoring for High Street was Shaun Taylor.

Goals for Milbourne came from Martin Douglas and Mark Peacock.

Clubs are being reminded that the league AGM will be held on Monday, June 6 at New Delaval and Newsham Social Club at 7pm.

Then the following Tuesday, June 14, the league presentation night will also be held in the same venue at 8pm.
