Durham City boss Ian Chandler thought his side paid a huge penalty for missing chances on Saturday as they went down 2-0 at home to Ashington.
Chandler said: “It was an open and even game throughout between two strong teams.
“Glen Taylor had good chance for Ashington when he was clean through but our keeper Jordan Harkess has made a good save, then we had three or four really good opportunities ourselves and should have taken at least a couple of them.
“Both sides wanted to attack and if we had got in front I think we would have been looking at a different game, but we missed chances, which ultimately cost us.
“The opposition are going to create things themselves and Ashington got the opening goal then added another on 90 minutes.
“I was disappointed with the result but I thought our performance was reasonable.”
