The Colliers – whose league fixture at home to Whickham last weekend was postponed due to a waterlogged surface – went out of the Techflow Marine Northumberland Senior Cup in midweek after losing a five goal thriller against local rivals Bedlington when Kevin Westphal scored a late goal for the Terriers.

For Saturday’s trip to Cumbria, the boss – who has also signed Marcus Giles from North Shields - will have to reckon without the suspended Curtis Coppen and David Luke but striker Callum Johnston is expected to return.
